New Year's Eve!!!

As the old year winds down, I thought I'd post a picture of my studio. The first one is my desk.  And yes, it does look like that when I'm not working on it and it looks that way before I go to bed at night.  We have a cat who LOVES my art desk, so I have to keep things out of the way!  It is also easier for me to find things.
 This one is what is to the left of this picture above.  My sewing machine is covered with "Cat in the Hat" wrapping paper that I put over a cardboard box to keep dust out of it.
And going around the room, here is where I have my paints and the little drawers are only about half used.  They have craft sticks, toothpicks, etc. in them.

  1. Oh boy! I don't think in all the years I've known you, I've ever seen a photo of your studio space! I love this! You are so organized and tidy. The box as a sewing machine cover is simple but genius. I love the shelving above your table - most of my stuff rests on the table I work on and one other table and I still don't have enough room. Hmmm. Now I've got my thinking cap on. Thank you for inspiring me!

    1. My DH came up with the idea of the shelves above my desk. The boards are melamine, which has a very smooth white surface so the are easy to clean. The supports for the shelves are easy to put in and the amount of shelfing or the space between them can easily be adjusted. It has worked out very well for me. For the items that I use a lot, I make sure they are in reach. Of course our cat likes to steal things from the first shelf and my wastepaper basket, so I have to be careful!!!
